📖 W3C XML Standards, Data Modeling & Architecture Guide
1. What is the structural difference between XML and JSON/HTML?
Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a strict, self-describing W3C data interchange format. Unlike HTML (which is designed for displaying visual UI elements) and JSON (which is optimized for lightweight JavaScript objects), XML enforces strict nesting, closing tags, and typed entity schemas with attributes, making it the bedrock of enterprise SOAP APIs, RSS/Atom feeds, SVG graphics, and Android layouts.
2. Why do XML element tag names require strict sanitization?
According to the W3C XML specification, valid XML element names:
 • Cannot start with numbers (e.g., 1item is invalid; our tool sanitizes it to _1item).
 • Cannot contain spaces or special punctuation characters (item name is transformed into item_name).
 • Must not start with the reserved prefix xml in any case combination.
3. When should you use XML Attributes vs. Nested Child Elements?
Use Attributes (e.g.
) for metadata that describes the container without representing independent data. Use Child Elements (e.g.
Data
) for core data payloads, multi-line values, or fields that may contain sub-structures in the future.
4. How does CDATA prevent parser errors when handling special characters?
Wrapping raw strings inside ... tells the XML parser to treat the inner content as pure unparsed character data. This eliminates the need to escape ampersands (&), angle brackets (<, >), and quotation marks, making it ideal for embedding raw HTML code, SQL queries, or Markdown content.
5. Privacy Guarantee: Zero Server-Side Processing
All tokenization, schema compilation, entity escaping, DOM tree rendering, and XML file generation happen entirely in your browser's local memory using pure client-side JavaScript. No plain text data or generated XML is ever transmitted across the network.
