Color keying computes the 3D distance between every pixel $(R_p, G_p, B_p)$ and your selected target backdrop color $(R_t, G_t, B_t)$ in the standard sRGB color cube:
ΔE = √((R_p - R_t)² + (G_p - G_t)² + (B_p - B_t)²)
If the calculated distance is less than or equal to the calibrated tolerance threshold, the pixel's alpha channel is set to 0. When feathering is enabled, pixels lying within the falloff zone are proportionally blended to preserve smooth anti-aliased contours.
