Volume Converter, 3D Fluid Container Simulator & Volumetric Capacity
The Universal Volume Converter, 3D Fluid Container Simulator & Volumetric Capacity Studio is a browser-based volumetric metrology engine built on the official BIPM SI definition of the cubic metre ($1\text{ m}^3$) and ISO 80000-3 physical space standards. Operating 100% client-side with zero server latency and total privacy, this engineering suite bridges the divide between 45 volumetric units across five distinct measurement families: International SI Metric (cubic metres, liters, deciliters, centiliters, milliliters, and cubic centimeters), US Customary Liquid & Dry measures (gallons, quarts, pints, cups, fluid ounces, bushels, and pecks), the British Imperial System (Imperial gallons, quarts, pints, and fluid ounces), Industrial & Bulk Cargo shipping (42-gallon crude oil barrels, beer barrels, cubic feet, cubic yards, and acre-feet), and Culinary Kitchen standards. In addition to high-precision matrix conversions with 2 to 10 decimal precision, the tool features an interactive 3D container geometry solver (calculating volume, fill percentages, displaced pure water mass at 4°C, and base hydrostatic pressure for silos, cisterns, and spherical tanks), a culinary recipe batch multiplier with ingredient density weighting, real-world physical analog benchmarks, 1-click clipboard exporters, CSV manifests, and a 1200×630 high-DPI specification card dossier generator.

The Imperial Gallon is exactly 20.095% larger than the US Liquid Gallon.
An Imperial Gallon equals 4.54609 Liters (defined in 1824 as 10 lbs of distilled water), while a US Liquid Gallon equals 3.78541 Liters (rooted in the 1706 British Queen Anne wine gallon of 231 cubic inches).

BIPM SI Standard: The cubic metre (m³) is the coherent SI derived unit of volume. One liter (L) equals exactly one cubic decimeter (dm³ = 0.001 m³). At 4°C, 1 Liter of pure water has a displaced mass of exactly 1.000 Kilogram (2.20462 lbs).
Under the International System of Units (SI) established by the BIPM (Bureau International des Poids et Mesures), the primary coherent unit of volume is the cubic metre (m³). The liter (symbol L or l) was originally created in France in 1795 as one cubic decimeter (1 dm³). In 1901, the 3rd CGPM redefined the liter as the volume of 1 kilogram of pure water at its maximum density (approx. 1.000028 dm³). However, in 1964, the 12th CGPM repealed this definition and restored the liter to its exact mathematical identity: 1 L = 0.001 m³ = 1 dm³.
Prior to 1824, Britain had several competing gallons: the Winchester ale gallon (282 cubic inches), the Queen Anne wine gallon of 1706 (231 cubic inches), and the dry corn gallon (268.8 cubic inches). During the American colonial era, the young United States adopted the 231 cubic-inch Queen Anne wine gallon as its national standard. In 1824, the British Parliament abolished all existing gallons through the Weights and Measures Act, establishing the Imperial Gallon defined as the volume of 10 pounds of distilled water at 62°F with barometric pressure at 30 inches of mercury (exactly 4.54609 Liters). Consequently, the British Imperial Gallon is roughly 20.095% larger than the US Liquid Gallon.
Although the British Imperial gallon is 20% larger than the US gallon, a US Fluid Ounce (29.5735 mL) is ~4.08% LARGER than an Imperial Fluid Ounce (28.4131 mL). This occurs because the US liquid pint contains 16 US fluid ounces (128 fl oz per gallon), whereas the British Imperial pint contains 20 Imperial fluid ounces (160 fl oz per gallon). The extra division in the British system makes their individual ounces slightly smaller.
At standard atmospheric pressure and maximum water density (3.984°C), pure water has a density of exactly 0.999972 g/cm³ (effectively 1.0000 kg/L). Therefore, 1 Liter of water weighs 1 Kilogram (2.20462 lbs), and 1 US Gallon weighs approximately 8.3454 lbs. In fluid mechanics, hydrostatic base pressure is defined as \( P = \rho \cdot g \cdot h \), where \(\rho\) is fluid density (1000 kg/m³ for water), \(g\) is gravitational acceleration (9.80665 m/s²), and \(h\) is liquid height in meters.
All unit normalizations, geometric 3D formulas, culinary scaling calculations, canvas rendering, and dossier export routines execute 100% inside your local web browser.
